WIE Freshman
Orientation Camp
Incoming freshmen women in the College of Engineering are invited
to attend a two-day workshop at the beginning of the fall semester.
The program includes sessions on adjusting to college life, study
strategies, and the engineering profession while providing opportunities
for new students to meet their classmates.
Engineering 100
Engineering 100 is an orientation program set up for all
incoming freshman to the College of Engineering insructed by current
engineering students. During this class you will be given an overview
of our College along with strategies and contacts you can use to make
sure you are successful.
Engineering Learning Assisstants
As an ELA, you will be responsible for leading a section of Engineering
100, instructing freshman students in your major on topics necessary
for success in the College of Engineering as well as at the university.
WIE Scholarship Program
Each year, WIE awards numerous merit and need-based scholarships made
possible through generous donations from corporate sponsors
and private donors. Students need not apply for these scholarships.
Incoming students will be chosen based on their applications and current
students will be selected using the information provided through Engineering
Career Services' EASE System.
Study Break
The WIE Study Break is an opportunity for students to drop in between
classes and labs to spend some time snacking and recharging with other
students and supportive COE faculty, staff, and administrators in
a low-key, positive environment just before the end-of-year push.

Intel
Scholars Undergraduate Research Program (ISUR) hosted by
WIE and MEP
The Undergraduate Research program was founded to provide
research opportunities to women and minority undergraduate students
(African American, Latino/a, Native American). Undergraduate Research
Scholars spend a semester or more working in a lab with a graduate
mentor and a member of the faculty. One of the biggest sponsors of
this program is the Intel Corporation.
