UIUC Student Groups
- Society
of Women Engineers (SWE) is a chapter of the national
SWE organization, and is one of the largest societies in the College
of Engineering at the University of Illinois. With 19 officers and
over 300 members, SWE chapter sponsors numerous outreach, community
service, and prospective student events each semester. Additionally,
SWE offers professional experience through workshops, conferences,
and other networking opportunities. For more information about particular

- Alpha
Omega Epsilon (AOE) is a professional and social sorority
founded for women in engineering and technical sciences that provides
friendship, leadership, and professionalism to all members of the
organization, the community, and our professions.
- Women in Computer Science (WCS) is an organization
dedicated to the promotion and encouragement of women in the computing
area. Our activities include a mixture of social, professional,
and technical activities such as biweekly coffee hours, an ice cream
social, a general meeting with professors and company representatives,

- Women in Electrical
and Computer Engineering (WECE) was established to
encourage and support women in Electrical and Computer Engineering
(ECE). WECE is committed to promote a member-friendly environment
for students/researchers in ECE at Illinois by facilitating professional
and social interactions within/outside the department as well as
by promoting various intramural/extramural activities. If you would
