Who is Eligible to attend G.A.M.E.S.? Young women who will enter grades 6, 7, 8, or 9 in fall of 2008 (6th & 7th Graders- Structures / 7th & 8th Graders- Computer Science / 8th & 9th Graders-Bioengineering / Chemical Engineering ). Applicants should have demonstrated an interest in math and science through academic achievements and a strong commitment to developing their abilities in math and science. G.A.M.E.S. takes place on the beautiful campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Campers will stay with live-in camp counselors in student housing on the university campus. All projects and demonstrations will be conducted in the Univesity of Illinois campus buildings.
Sunday, August 3, 2008 through Saturday, August 9, 2008 The cost for the Structures and Computer Science camps is $575. The cost for the Bioengineering / Chemical Engineering camp is $725. This covers all meals, rooms, and supplies. Financial aid is available for those campers who are in financial need. Also, daughters of University of Illinois employees recieve a $75 discount on their camp tuition, two or more campers from the same family receive a $50 discount on their camp tuition, and all returning campers will receive $100 off of their tuition! What happens during G.A.M.E.S.? Campers will spend the week of camp working on a team project, learning about various enginering, math, and science disciplines, participating in cool hands-on demonstrations, and meeting lots of other young women who share their interest in math and science. |
