Application Process

The procedure for admission to the SURGE Fellowship program is as follows:
 
  • Candidate first applies for admission to an engineering doctoral program. To apply, candidates must submit to the major department those materials specified in the Application for Admission to the Graduate College. To ensure full consideration, application should be submitted as early as possible.
  • Candidate is evaluated by the major department for admission to its graduate program.
  • Candidate is nominated by the department for the SURGE Fellowship Program.
  • Nominated candidate is evaluated by the SURGE Advisory Committee on the basis of eligibility to the SURGE program and potential for achieving the program's objectives.
