Welcome to the College of Engineering Academic Advising page

This page is intended to give students a starting point for information regarding advising but it is not intended to take the place of your faculty advisor. You are required to meet with your departmental faculty advisor at least once per semester. Therefore, use the information from this page to discuss your options.

The Advising System in the College of Engineering

The advising system in the College of Engineering is designed to assist the undergraduate in a number of ways. It covers advance enrollment procedures, course selection, and career options. Some advisors will ask that you make an appointment to discuss your career options but, in general, they are happy to discuss this subject with any student who expresses an interest. The advisor should be viewed as a career information resource.

If your advisor is needed and not available, the chief advisor for the department should be consulted. Each department has a chief advisor, shown on the Advisor Information page, who can serve as an advisor in emergency situations.
