Sample Program

The following programs illustrate ways in which the international minor requirements can be met. Many other combinations of courses can be proposed for approval.
I. INTERNATIONAL MINOR - FRANCE
Language: # of semester hours
FR 101, 102, 103, 104, or equivalent* - Elementary and Intermediate French 12
*Substitution of AP credit or credit earned in summer language study is permitted.
Area Studies:
FR 209 - Introduction to French Literature 3
ECON 332 - European Economic History 3
FR 479 - Studies in Francophonie 3
Residency:
Six weeks in Nancy, France studying French language and culture. Six semester hours of credit can be transferred to fulfill part of the above course requirements.
 
II. INTERNATIONAL MINOR - CHINA

Area Studies:
HIST 120 - East Asian Civilizations 3
ENG 299* - Cultural Study of China 3

*Credit earned in residence in China.
Residency:
Six week summer language study at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
 
III. INTERNATIONAL MINOR - GREAT BRITAIN
In this example language cannot be used as part of the required 21 semester hours.
