Class

Although not the most interesting part of the trip class as it turns out is an integral part of the whole "study" abroad experience.  Truthfully I probably learned more from our field trips and talking with the locals than in class; but then again we got six credit hours in only four weeks; 3 for language, and 3 for Islamic culture:

Our Arabic language instructor Dr. Mohammed, aka  Momo.  The entire four weeks we had no idea what the hell he was saying.  We spoke no Arabic and he spoke no English.  This made for some intersting games of charades.    We did however learn interesting dialogues such as:

Momo:  What is this? Is it my nose?

Class: Yes

Momo: Yes! Yes! it is my nose! ok good. Whose read?

Although we couldn't really understand him Momo was a pretty nice guy.

Dr Mona and class. (We're smiling because it's the last day)

If not for copious amounts of Arabic coffee and a barrage of jokes about Greek new age pianists and Ewoks there's no way I would have made it through that class awake.  'nuff said
