Program
I went to Bologna on a program
offered by the Study Abroad Office called TASSEP. I still don't know
stands for, maybe someone in the Study Abroad Office knows. In any case it
was not an organized cut and dry program. Consequently there is little general
information I can provide about the program. It really depends on your own
individual experience. I went by myself and had to find housing and sign up for
classes alone. Had I not already spoken Italian it could
have been disastrous. Luckily though I found my way, with the help of the
many friends I made along the way. The biggest difference I found between
an Italian university and an American university was the complete indifference
with which the students are treated. Essentially there is nobody to check
up on you, for better or for worse. If you want something done you have to
do it yourself, and even then you still have to deal with the somewhat more
relaxed Italian Bureaucracy. That said would I go again? Absolutely.
