Travel

During my stay in Germany, I decided that it would be very worthwhile to travel and experience other cultures. I purchased a Germany-Benelux 7-day unlimited ticket for relatively cheap and definitely got my money's worth out of it. It is not available in Germany, so one must either purchase it in America, or have a willing parent send it to Germany. With the ticket, I traveled from Stuttgart to Amsterdam, Holland and Brussels, Belgium. In the 5-day trip to those two cities, I witnessed a combination of history and culture of two very old European cities. On the way back from Brussels, I visited Heidelberg and Ludwigsburg, two cities with amazing and completely different castles. From Munich I traveled to the Alps on the Austrian border and to Salzburg. Both places were simply beautiful, something I will always remember. Other destinations include the German capital, Berlin, and Prague. Berlin was huge and has history in every corner, especially the Berlin Wall and all the museums covering the Cold War Germany theme. Prague was a great old city, where everything was unbelievably inexpensive. Try to go before they switch to the euro and everything triples in price. My experiences in all the cities I visited are simply unforgettable, and they definitely made the total study abroad experience fantastic.
