Recreation at the ANU
There was a lot to do at ANU besides studying. The place I
lived in had their own intercollege sports teams you could join, and you'd play against other dorms. Soccer was one such sport, and played on a field that was a 5 minute walk from my dorm:
If sports weren't your thing, there was a film club which you could join. I took part in the club and absolutely loved it. It cost $25.00 Australian dollars, and they showed about 80 movies. I saw 25 movies, so I figure i got a pretty good deal. They show new movies such as X-men 2, old favorites like The Pink Panther, and foreign films such as Talk to Her. This club was one of my favorite parts about going to ANU. Their website is

There was also a Union which had stores, places to study and eat, and even a bar! Here are some pictures of outside the union, inside the union, and the bar itself:
