I spent my Fall 2003 semester in Canberra, Australia. I created this website to inform people about my trip and to give some information about the program I was involved in.
I decided to study in Australia because it always seemed like a really unique and beautiful place to go. Once I decided where I wanted to study, I went to the
University of Illinois' Study Abroad Office. Once there, I had to choose which city to study in. After doing a lot of research, I chose Canberra, because it was said to be beautiful and the location was superb - right between Sydney and Melbourne.
You can see where Canberra is from this map:
Since I went through the study abroad office,
IPENG was kind enough to pay for 80% of my airline ticket. If you study abroad directly through IPENG, they'll pay for your entire airline ticket to your destination abroad. In return, you do a small project for them (e.g. this website) and volunteer 4 hours at their study abroad fair. I thought that was a pretty good deal, so I took advantage of it, and you can as well. Visit their website (linked above) for details.
The official name of my program was the Australian Exchange program with the
Australian National University or ANU for short. From here on, I have divided the website into different subpages. You can follow the links below based on what you're interested in. Thanks for stopping by!
