| Five months in
another culture on another continent, it all goes
too fast. I know it sounds cliche, but one
semester is just enough time to get really
immersed in something, then it is all over. It
was definitely the best experience of my life. I
would recommend it to anyone. Hopefully this site
will be helpful to students who are interested in
studying, working or traveling in Australia. I
will tell you that right now that the reason that
I went to Australia was to see the Outback and to
surf, not necessarily to take classes. However I
must say that Griffith University surprised me
with how well organized and professional it was.
It is located in Southport in the Gold Coast
region of Queensland. The University of Illinois
did not have a program set up with Griffith for
Exchange or Study Abroad, however was very
helpful with making things happen to give me this

Thank you so much. It wouldn't have been possible without you. I would also like to suggest to everyone who is going to Australia to travel. It is very affordable and will remain with you forever. Go to classes, but when you have time off and an extra twenty bucks jump on a bus or a train and see the land. I have provided a lot of pictures in the Our Travels link. What is there is intended to be both educational and entertaining. If there was one thing that I wished I did before I left it would have to be reading more on how and where to travel. We spent our first month in Australia figuring all that out. I have provided links in the Travel Australia section that should be very helpful. Spend some time at http://www.tntmagazine.com/au/ and get a Lonely Planet book and read this stuff before you leave for Australia. You can be like me and not heed this warning, but its your time over there so do what you want. |
