The Summer Palace is about 700 acres, and consists of Kunming Lake (shown below) and Longevity Hill.
It was a beautiful, sunny day when we went to visit the Summer Palace. I went paddle boating and took this picture while on the boat. We eventually climbed that tower.
This is a picture of a typical ancient building found in the Summer Palace. There's also the famous Long Corridor (not shown) that links many pavilions, halls, and courtyards together.
This is the famous Marble Boat made in the 1890's. The story (or perhaps legend) behind this is that During the Qing Dynasty, the money that was suppose to fund the navy went into making this boat because of Cixi's greed. This left China in a bad position when Japan later invaded.
Lilly and I yet again each paid money to dress up. No one else would dress up with us....
