Places to Go in Beijing

Hai Long - This is a really big electronics store ten minutes from Tsinghua's West Gate.
Ya Show - This store has many stalls that sell fake brand clothing. It has many stalls were you can try out your bargaining skills.
Xiu Shui (Silk Road) - Xiu Shui is another store that sells fake brands. Starting prices tend to be more expensive than Ya Show, but it all depends on how well you bargain.
Wangfujing
- Wangfujing is to the east of Tiananmen and used to be very popular among foreigners. The prices here are medium expensive, but the quality is pretty good. They also have fried scorpion outside that you can try.
Xidan
- Like Wangfujing, Xidan is also a pretty expensive place. There is usually no bargaining, but it's worth a visit.
Beijing University
- Right next door to Tsinghua, you should go visit its lake, which is bigger than Tsinghua's two lakes.
Watermelon Place
- The "late night" of Tsinghua University. They serve lambsticks, watermelon, and other Chinese delicacy.
Hidden QQ (McDonald's)
- Near the Watermelon Place, this restaurant offers ripoff McDonald's meals and also fried chicken.
Chinese Burger Home
- Outside the main gate to the east, this place has amazing ice cream for only 2 yuan.
Pearl Market
- If you're looking for jewelry, you should definitely check this place out.
Xiang Shan
- Want to climb a mountain? It's right in the northwest corner of Beijing. On clear days, the view of Beijing is spectacular.
