Visitors, I returned home from South Africa in mid-December of 2003, after living there for five and a half months. Most of this time was spent as a student at the University of Cape Town, but I was able to do some traveling throughout Southern Africa as well. It truly was the experience of a lifetime, and I am so glad that I took the opportunity to be an international student for a semester. I have chosen to author this website for the University of Illinois' College of Engineering partly as a requirement, but also because I wanted to be able to easily share with you the amazing experience that I had. If you are a fellow student interested in taking the opportunity to study abroad, you will find information that will be helpful in your decision regarding the application process, finances, the University, courses, the city of Cape Town, and Southern Africa.
