Overview
ESAA dedicates a great deal of effort to the personal development of its members. Much of that effort centers on various training activities held throughout the year. This training prepares members for their interaction with alumni, while developing skills applicable to all facets of life.
Introduction to Student-Alumni Relations
At the beginning of each year, students hear a presentation on the value of student-alumni relations. The presentation emphasizes alumni's role in mentoring, recruiting, serving on curriculum boards, and creating opportunities for students like scholarships and sponsorships. It further emphasizes that interaction with students is what drives alumni to stay involved on campus.
Etiquette Reception Sponsored by Lockheed Martin
Students are given the opportunity to interact with corporate representatives in a reception setting. From this, they become more comfortable with these interactions and, in turn, are better hosts for College of Engineering receptions.
DiSC Communication Workshop
At this workshop, students learn about various styles of communication, and how people of different styles can understand each other and work best together.
