Read what current and recent ECS Ambassadors have to say about the program:
"Being an ambassador is an incredibly rewarding experience. It offers
the opportunity to work closely with company representatives and in the best
interests of the College of Engineering as a whole. The program also gives its
members the chance to be a part of a great team environment."
- David Rockwood, Electrical Engineering
"The ECS Ambassador program is definitely rewarding as I got to know all
of the Ambassadors, including their ideas and views. Also, I had a chance to
meet company representatives and find out their views and what they look for
when hiring, and ultimately I hope I help those students who attend the info
sessions to get a good job. By gaining all this knowledge from participating
in this program, I believe I have a better chance of getting a good job for
myself."
- Igor Khoroshilov, Mechanical Sciences & Engineering
"The ECS Ambassador program provided a great platform on two different
levels. First, it allowed me to have rare, one-to-one interaction with important
industry recruiters, differentiating me from the rest of the crowd that was
present at the info sessions. This has led to some great relationships which
I use for myself and for others seeking help on campus. Second, and perhaps
more important, it brought me very close to the ECS department. For example,
Jeff Beavers (former ECS dean) took out special time from his schedule to help
me construct a strong resume. Having understood me on a more personal level,
he was also willing to recommend me to several companies. Such a personal relationship
with the department has resulted in greater self-confidence and in the stronger
overall growth as a job applicant."
- Anirudh Talwar, Electrical Engineering
