Let us tell your story…

Editorial services
The Engineering Communications Office is continually researching and developing stories about the faculty, students, research, and other news from the college. Our editors also work with department communicators, RSO publicity chairs, and others to develop and distribute stories about their activities and achievements.

Our editors will evaluate story ideas, determine appropriate audiences and the most effective media, and work directly with subjects to “tell the story.” Subject areas include—but may not be limited to—published research results, promotion of innovative technologies, student and faculty achievements, college-wide news, and related stories.

Contact the editorial staff by phone (217/244-7716) or email to discuss your story idea and development timetable. There is no charge for developing or distributing stories.

Is your story newsworthy? Here are guidelines to help determine how you can best tell your story, and who might be interested.

Every story has an audience, and specific audiences are interested in certain stories. We maintain an extensive list of print, broadcast, and web media and can help distribute your story to the appropriate audiences—local, regional, nationwide, or worldwide.
