The College of Engineering Certificate of Appreciation is available to acknowledge special endeavors of benefit to the departments or college by individuals who are not affiliated with the university. The certificate should be given, not in response to one act, but for sustained and substantial commitments of time, advocacy, and resources that enhance the mission of the department and college.
Solicitation
A brief letter requesting a certificate and describing the endeavor to be acknowledged can be submitted at any time to the Engineering Awards Committee Chair through the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Programs, 206 Engineering Hall, MC-272. At least two weeks should be allowed for approval of the request by the appropriate subcommittee and for preparation of the certificate.Due

Certificates of Appreciation may be requested for presentation on any appropriate occasion throughout the year.Selection
Individuals who are not affiliated with the university. No restriction has been placed on the number of certificates of appreciation issued, but the college awards committee suggests that a department present no more than two certificates each year. In this way, a tradition can be established that it is a rare distinction to receive a Certificate of Appreciation
