    National Fluid Power Assn.

The objectives are to prove the concept of programmable electrohydraulic valves and to enhance the fluid power educational program. The research component of this project intends to develop a 'soft' electrohydraulic valve which serves as a generic base firmware for different applications with flexible software. This 'soft' valve is capable of realizing the directional control, flow control, line release, and other functions with a specially developed control system. The education component of this project intends to increase student involvement and interests in fluid power technology by offering courses and research opportunities in fluid power.
