Marketing Communications

As units within the college compete for undergraduate and graduate students, top faculty, research support, and peer recognition, the word “marketing” often surfaces.

The Engineering Communications Office encourages clients to consider how each individual project fits into a broader strategic marketing and communications effort to support the goals of the unit or program as well as the goals of the College of Engineering and the University of Illinois.

We can help you plan and evaluate your communication strategies and plan new projects that

  • identify key markets and develop messages that promote competitive advantages and position your unit appropriately;
  • integrate, leverage, and complement communication efforts across the college; and
  • reinforce the Engineering at Illinois brand identity.

In addition to marketing consulting, we can also help plan the most efficient means of communicating your unique attributes through both print and electronic media, including design and production of presentations, ads, and other collateral materials.

We can also help you select and work with freelancers, vendors, and other campus offices that provide communication and publication support.
