SUPPLEMENTAL COURSES

    The campus requirements must be taken for grade from a list of approved courses which can be seen on the web at http://www.courses.uiuc.edu/gened.

    All courses that meet campus requirements also meet the College requirements, as well.  In addition, some campus Humanities and Social Sciences courses also qualify as Western or Non-Western Cultural Studies.  These are identified in the web site shown above.

    The College of Engineering has established a list of supplemental Social Sciences and Humanities courses which can be used to satisfy the 6 hour college requirement (shown as "Other SSH" on the engineering degree audit).  These are listed below.  These courses will not, however, satisfy the campus requirements unless specifically listed as approved on the web site shown above.

    high school achievement level (e.g., four years of high school language credit will not allow
    101 or 102, but would allow for 103 or 104)
    (2) students may earn proficiency credit for 103 or 104 or higher by examination subject to limits
    of Rule 1 above.
